886

Have you ever been in a funk? You wake up in the morning and something just isn’t right? Sometimes it doesn’t happen until mid afternoon, and all of a sudden you feel overwhelmed with life? Everything has gone wrong and all you want to do is feel down?

We all have been there, and with chronic illness being in a funk happens more often than we would like.

You have a flare up.

You get little sleep.

You have a doctor’s appointment.

You get sick of taking so many medicines.

All result in a funk…

Today, I want you to start fresh and learn how to get out of a funk when you feel it coming on. Below you will find 3 odd but effective ways to reduce stress, regain happiness, and turn your day around.

1) Spend 1 Minute Smiling

Try it right now. Set your phone clock for 1 minute, and start smiling. This activity might seem odd, but studies have shown that smiling actually can cause you to change your mood. Don’t believe me? Check out this article from HowStuffWorks.com. Next time you are in a bad mood, pause and smile for 1 minute. At the very least, everyone else will think you are having a stellar day!

2) Watch Stupid Videos Online

Sometimes we just need a laugh. Laughing is often the perfect cure for a bad day. What I have done below is compiled 4 videos that will make you laugh, and turn your mood around in no time.

3) Dance

I don’t care if you don’t know how, or if you are bad at dancing, just dance! Put on your favorite song and just let yourself go. If you are embarrassed, find a private room and let yourself go. Blast your song as loud as you can. Try doing a “driving dance” while in your car. If your illness is stopping you from getting out of your seat, try a little head nod. If you can’t head nod, move any body part you want. Just Dance.

I hope you enjoyed this fun article. What is your favorite thing to do in order to turn your mood around?
